Class feed back from 4th draft

Our feed back wasn't what we quite expected. Most people complained about that there wasn't enough zombies or connotations of zombies. So we will have to put in more connotations of zombies. Another issue was that some people didn't like the soundtrack. Lastly people liked the Facebook but thought it would be better if we put the titles in with the Facebook so it was all linked.

Week 6

During the half term I met up with my group and started to film more and take more photos. We took some photos of me terry and Aiden because we are the three main characters of the film. We took photos of us just messing around and being like our character roles. The photographs which we took correlate to our characters personalities; our characters are typical teenagers so we tried to capture our characters the way they would usually act around their friends.

This is a photo of the zombie that would be appearing in one of the videos that we decided to take on our phones. We didn't make the zombie too detailed because you wouldn't see the zombie clearly.

Enigma code

During todays lesson we looked at Roland Barthes Enigma codes. We looked at Barthes 5 theories which where The Hermeneutic code- the voice of truth ( this is an element in a story that is not explained and , therefore excises as an enigma for the reader raising questions.
The Proairetic code- the voice of empiries
The semantic code- the voice of the person
The Symbolic code- the voice of the symbol
The Cultural code- the voice of Knowledge

The Enigma theory suggest a text which could be a film or poster where it portrays a mystery to draw the audience in and it poses a question so the audience get actively involved with the film. An example of this is a mystery film where the audience get involved to figure out the mystery them selves and to see if they are right.

. Research codes and conventions of your chosen film genre- paying particular attention to title sequence.

. Write an audience profile for your films target audience; remember to consider primary and secondary audiences.

. Analyse at least one sequence from your chosen genre individually and one as a group, considering its use of generic conventions.Note down any features which you might like to use in your own work.

. Invent a production company name and design a logo for your production company

So for the two lessons we went off in our groups and started to work on the tasks together.

Week 2

During todays lesson we was given revison pack so we could revise for our up coming mock. We then went back into the title sequences and was shown james bound. As a class we stripped down the title sequence and talked about it. We watched the title sequence for Skyfall. We talked about how it was different to the other james bond films. In this sequence it used alot more variety of colours instead of the basic red. Once we analysed some more we then began to talk about foely sounds and watched the title sequence for Seven and started to break it down and see what kind of sounds we could hear that wasnt the music sound track. We also listened to the original sound track which was made by nine inch nails. It sounded completely different to the seven one. Once we done that we was given some equipment that catchs sounds. We was given a task to go out and find sounds that could go well with our theme that we was doing for our title sequence. My group left me in charge with the equipment but because we didnt know how to use it i found it hard to get to grips with it but near the end i was getting the hang of how to use it.

Week 2

During this lesson we was shown an old students power point based on Saul Bass. We found out that Bass was an American graphic designer and became famous for his classic logo design and in film. He studied Design at Art students League in manhattane. He used alot of hand drawn images and used strong colour. He also used cut out projectiles and was know for simple geometric shapes and symbolism. Bass worked with Alfred Hitchcock and Stanley Kubrick. Once we finished with the presentation we was all put into are groups and was given an Title sequence designer and we had to research them and present them to the class.

Start of title sequence planning Week 1

Durning this weeks lesson we was put into group for our title sequence. The groups was basicly the ones we picked before we broke up for christmas. In my group there is Terry, Adian, Lauren and me Louis. Once in our groups we was given a task to start comming up with ideas for our title sequence so everyone started to brainstorm ideas. We had to come up with 3 different starting points and pick the best one. For our group we decied to go with the Genre Horror. We chose Horror because we all like that type of film and thought it would be the easiest to work with. We come up with 3 starting points and they were A serial killer that was out for revenge, A zombie apocalypse with a group of surviving teenagers and lastly Desolation where no one is left aprat from a group of people. We decided to go with the Zombie one because we had the most ideas for that. The next lesson which was on wednesday we had to create a powerpopint presetation based on our idea for a title sequence. We had to create a plot for the film, budget, big stars, producer, other films that inspired us. On wednesday we had to present our idea to the class. I found out that most of the class was doing Horror. whilst a group went up and presented every other group was given a sheet to fill out based on ther performance and their film. Alot of the groups didnt have a lot to say bout their film. Once my group presented I thought we did quite well compared to most of the other groups.
